Nationwide's Clunk-Click

To highlight the constant need for users of boom type platforms to wear a full body harness and short restraint lanyard secured to a suitable anchor point, Nationwide is dedicating February as 'Clunk Click' month.

“We instantly saw the importance of the Powered Access Interest Group’s (PAIG) Clunk Click campaign. We’ve responded quickly, both in terms of purchasing ample decals to feature on our entire boom fleet, and also through marketing initiatives including backing the Clunk Click poster campaign that features in this month’s Cranes & Access magazine,” said Peter Whittall, Nationwide's managing director.

The programme is part of Nationwide’s continuing commitment to health and safety and is being marked with the Clunk Click decals being applied to all of its boom fleet.

Decals being applied to recently refurbished Genie machines

The roll out is in full swing at the Andover depot with decals being applied by David Mears to some of the company’s recently refurbished Genie fleet (see picture).

Besides the operational work being undertaken, another milestone for the company is in the sales of harnesses and lanyards throughout its network.

“The sourcing of a business partner has been a meticulous process, but we wanted to ensure that the chosen supplier would reflect the same values and commitment to service as ourselves,” said Whittall.

In collaboration with this harness manufacturer Nationwide is reinforcing the Clunk Click message with joint funding of harness literature and a sponsored poster being distributed in the next edition of Cranes & Access.
