CSCS approval for PASMA

PASMA, the association for mobile access towers, has gained Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) approval for its Partner Card Scheme.

Commencing 2021, all delegates who pass PASMA’s Access Tower Specialist course will be issued with a certification card featuring the CSCS logo. This will help indicate to construction sites and managers throughout the UK that the holder is competent to erect, dismantle and inspect all types of towers including bespoke tower structures. For all other PASMA courses, the association will continue to issue its certification cards without the CSCS logo.

PASMA managing director Peter Bennett said: “The partnership between PASMA and CSCS is a huge step forward for access tower safety on UK construction sites. If someone arrives to assemble a tower, the site manager can easily check they’re qualified just by viewing the details on their PASMA card. Anyone holding this card has considerable experience and knowledge of scaffold towers. Gaining industry-wide recognition of their specialist skills and level of qualification was a logical move with a big impact on height safety.”

CSCS chief executive Graham Wren, added: “CSCS holds an important place in our industry, providing evidence of qualifications and training thousands of times a day. PASMA have been maintaining safety, standards and best practice for many years and I am pleased to welcome them as the latest CSCS Partner Card Scheme.”

PASMA has become the 37th member of the CSCS Partner Card Scheme and joins other lifting and access training bodies such as ALLMI, CISRS, LEEA and IPAF.
