First MRH 175 for England
UK’s tower crane specialist Radius group has taken delivery of the first Potain MRH 175 hydraulic luffing jib tower crane to be delivered in England.
The new 10 tonne crane was installed alongside a MRH 225 on the site of the new 10 storey York Place student accommodation project in Nottingham. The crane was erected on a ZX6830 cross base with 71 tonnes of base ballast, a 35 metre mast and 35 metre jib. The site had originally planned for two MRH 225 models however the MRH 175 was able to offer the 10 metre out of service radius required to avoid oversailing an existing building located on the corner of the site.
Libby Dawson, Radius business development manager, said: “Oversailing is becoming a big issue in the UK, as lots of project sites are very tight. Adding the MRH 175 to our rental fleet puts us out there in the market with a competitive offer for a crane with a great out of service radius. I can see this being a very busy crane for us.”
