UK’s first Palazzani 37+

UK access rental company Paramount Platforms has taken delivery of the UK’s first 37 metre Palazzani XTJ 37+ spider lift.

The XTJ 37+ provides a maximum outreach of 15.7 metres with a reduced 120kg platform capacity, while 13 metres is possible with its 330kg platform capacity. It has also been delivered with a 500kg hydraulic winch which quickly allows it to be converted to a spider crane. Features include the new CAN-bus electrical system, and an ‘Easy Drive’ feature which maintains and ensures that both tracks operate at the same speed when travelling in forward or reverse mode in order to avoid unintended steering.

Prior to delivery Paramount’s technicians visited Palazzani’s facility in Italy to be trained in its use and maintenance. Its first job upon arrival was assisting with a telecoms job in Hull, where it was fitted with its hydraulic winch to lift an antenna bracket and its concrete weights onto a roof ready for its installation.

Paramount co-founder Lee Kerr, said: “We have a history with Palazzani spanning from our days at Universal 20 years ago. This Palazzani specification represents a variation from the usual theme offering greater strength and comfort with a rigid ride. This robust build allows a safe working load of 330kg and the crane hook lifts a significant 500kg.”

Laura Gasparini, Palazzani export sales manager, added: “It was a pleasure to get back in cooperation with Steve, Lee and Scott after a long time and to enrich their important fleet with a new generation Palazzani spider lift. The model and configuration selection took place after an attentive analysis of their needs, followed by some meetings in Palazzani factory, when interesting discussions and all the necessary demonstrations were carried out to showcase the important technological evolution that our product has had in recent years.”

Established in 2009, Chelmsford based Paramount has a fleet of 27 tracked and wheeled spider lifts as well as a number of boom and scissor lifts, truck mounts and underbridge platforms.
