Sälzer adds to Demag fleet

German crane rental company Sälzer Autokrane & Transporte has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Demag AC 250-5 All Terrain crane.

The five axle AC 250-5 features a 70 metre main boom plus a 21 to 33 metre bi-fold swingaway extension to offer a tip height of 101.8 metres. It also comes with the company's IC-1 Plus control system, which creates custom load charts depending on the actual outrigger configuration and slew position. The new crane joins three other Demags in Sälzer's fleet – a 40 tonne AC 40 City, a 100 tonne AC 100-4L and a 200 tonne AC 200-1 – and will be used primarily to install prefab concrete elements and industrial assembly projects.

General managers, Rene and Nico Sälzer, said: “From experience, we know that Demag cranes are extremely reliable. And this played a key role in our decision to acquire the new AC 250-5, which was necessary in order to ensure that we’d remain competitive in the medium and long terms.”
