Comansa adds to 21LC series

Spanish tower crane manufacturer Comansa has added two new flat top cranes to its 21LC series, the 21LC600 and the 21LC650, both of which are based on the existing 21LC550 and available in 20 or 25 tonne versions.

The new cranes offer jib lengths from 30 to 80 metres in five metre sections and can be equipped with an optional configuration that extends the jib tip to 85 metres. Capacities on the 21LC600 are on average 16 percent higher than the 21LC550 and offers a jib tip capacity of 4.5 tonnes - or 4,950kg in PowerLift mode, while the 21LC650 offers duties that are 23 percent better with similar jib tip capacities depending on which version is chosen.

The new models also have a shorter, modular counter jibs ranging from 24.4 to 16.4 metre, in five possible configurations, allowing them to be configured for a range of different sites in terms of space. The cranes have also been designed with easier access to the turntable with a redesigned cathead to facilitate the passage of lifting cables, while a permanent ladder allows access to the highest part of the cathead without the need for the cab platform. Access to the cab platform is now direct through the slew ring thanks to a folding ladder.

Both cranes offer a standard double trolley system with automatic changeover, while a single trolley is available as an option. The cranes can be built to a height of 85.8 metres on the built-in base, with 2.5 metre square towers. The cranes are also equipped with Comansa’s latest L Cube cab with the XL cab available as an option. A new J3A-11 climbing frame is available, based on the current J3-20, but longer, with greater distance between rollers offering savings in scale recovery time.

The 20 tonne cranes have a standard 50kW hoist motor, while the 25 tonners come with a 65kW motor. A higher powered 110kW hoist drive option is available on both models, with a speed of up to 290 metres a minute, and maximum rope storage capacity of 1,570 metres. Comansa’s Effi-Plus technology is standard, increasing the lifting and lowering speeds for light loads, without increasing power or consumption.
