New maintenance facility for Bigge
US crane sales and rental company Bigge Crane and Rigging has opened a large crane repair and maintenance centre near Houston, Texas.
Located in the Galveston area, south of Houston, the new facility has more than 15,000 square metres of covered space on a 25 acre plot. It also includes a massive 12,000 square metre workshop, with 35 bays and at least a dozen overhead cranes. As well as a separate wash down area and 1,900 square metre blast and paint shop, it also has 930 square metres of refurbished offices.

The company says that it has taken five years to find, acquire, design and build the new premises and added that the facility is an essential requirement in its programme to provide the very best equipment and product support.
Chief executive Weston Settlemier said: “Our team deserves the safest and most efficient environment to service the 'perfect fleet’. We want to continue to attract and retain the best people to join Bigge. By investing in state of the art maintenance facilities and implementing innovative technology, we can sustain Bigge’s time honoured traditions.”
