250t Demag for UAE

United Arab Emirates based crane rental company SVEA has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Demag AC 250-5 All Terrain crane.

The five axle AC 250-5 features a 70 metre main boom plus a 21 to 33 metre bi-fold swingaway extension to offer a tip height of 101.8 metres. It also comes with the company's IC-1 Plus control system, which creates custom load charts depending on the outrigger configuration and slew position. Its first job was lifting steel beams to heights of 75 metres and a radius of 22 metres on a site in the centre of Dubai.

SVEA general manager, Mahmoud Ibrahim, said: “The AC 250-5 really impressed us with its outstanding quality and extraordinary performance. In fact, we found it so incredibly compelling that we’ve decided to buy more Demag cranes no matter what.”

The company says the crane will be used for structural and civil engineering, infrastructure and oil and refinery projects, as well as for loading activities at the ports.
