Moroccan steel contractor SCIF (Société Chérifienne de Matériel Industriel et Ferroviaire) has taken delivery of the first 100 tonne Liebherr LRT 1100-2.1 Rough Terrain crane in the country, along with two 70 tonne LTM 1070-4.2 All Terrain cranes.
The two axle LRT 1100 features a five section 50 metre main boom and a 10.5 metre swingaway extension, while the four axle LTM 1070-4.2 has a 50 metre main boom and a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. Of the three cranes, the LRT 1100 and one of the LTM 1070s are reconditioned second hand units.
SCIF installations director, Mohamed El Houri, said: “Liebherr is the manufacturer, and therefore has all the competence it needs to deliver perfect used cranes. The two machines we ordered were refurbished at the factory and we are very impressed with the cranes’ quality.”
SCIF sales director Rachid Makboul, added: “We have had some very good experience with our Liebherr LTM 1130-5.1, which we bought in 2016. Its quality and reliability are outstanding. Furthermore, with its branch office in Casablanca, very close to our base, Liebherr provides us with excellent service and fast supplies of spare parts.”
Liebherr claims to be the world’s largest used crane dealer in the world with more than 10,000 deliveries to date.
