Liverpool crane update

Reports coming in say that the Demag crane, belonging to Bryn Thomas that toppled over last Thursday in Liverpool, was erecting steelwork at the time.

The crane was lifting a steel beam which was being guided with a tag line by Richard Mark Thornton, 46, who has been named as the man who died.

The beam apparently snagged on a tree causing the crane to loose stability, it then fell forward crushing the steelworker and killing him instantly.

The HSE investigation continues.
