Eagle Haulotte investment

UK rental company Eagle Platforms has placed a £3 million order for the latest Haulotte platforms. All of the new machines, some of which have already been delivered, are either all electric, the new Pulseo models, or for the larger units, Stage V diesel powered.

The first units to arrive include the 62ft HA20 LE Pro all electric articulated Rough Terrain boom lift with a working height of 20 metres, the 53ft HS18E Pro all electric battery powered Rough Terrain 4x4 scissor lift, launched at the end of last year, which offers 18 metres working height. In addition to the new Pulseo models, Eagle has taken larger diesel powered booms, including the 99ft HA32 and 130ft HA41 RTJ Pro articulated boom lifts, both equipped with Deutz Stage V low emission diesel engines. The new machines offer large working envelopes up to a height of 32 and 41 metres respectively.

One of the first jobs for the new machines was working on Manchester United’s world famous Old Trafford stadium, where the cleaner, quieter power units were a requirement, in order to comply with the strict environmental policies demanded by the contractors on site.

Eagle’s sales manager Adam Nicholson, said: "Early scepticism was quickly overcome from clients worried about performance compared to the old diesel powered models. In the end no such issues, we are now finding more and more customers reject the old models and preferring these."

Managing director Dan Stewart added: "The new machines are less expensive to run thanks to lower fuel consumption, less down time for re-fuelling, while zero carbon emission into the close working environment, means a more comfortable operator experience."
