New MD for Leguan
Finnish aerial lift manufacturer Leguan Lifts has appointed Esa Vuorela as managing director, taking over from Antti Otava who is set to retire.
Vuorela joins the company from air ventilation equipment company Koja where he has been factory director for close to five years. He began his career in 1992 as a development engineering manager with ABB, leaving for telecommunications company Nokia as a production development engineer in 1995.

Esa Vuorela
Over the following 17 years with Nokia he worked in a variety of managerial roles responsible for equipment, manufacturing, logistics, supply and production development before setting up his own company in 2012. Two years later he took on an interim manager role with Fastems Vaasa before joining Swot Consulting in 2012 as a senior consultant, leaving for Koja in 2016.

Vuorela replaces Antti Otava as managing director of Leguan Lifts
Vuorela will be responsible for the company’s range of aerial lifts and will look to increase production capacity to meet "ever growing international demand".
“As a factory manager, I have learned how important it is for a successful manufacturer to increase production efficiency and production volumes in a timely manner to support the international growth. My plan is to introduce modern tools for streamlining processes and manage the company through a challenging growth phase. In addition, the owners of Leguan Lifts are committed to securing the investments required for continuous growth,” said Vuorela
Otava added: “I can hand the company over to my successor with confidence. Esa's experience and know-how are suitable for the current situation of Leguan Lifts, and under his leadership, the company is ready for future challenges.”
Established in 1990, Leguan Lifts is part of family owned Finnish compact loader manufacturer Avant Tecno group.
