Ross McConachie
He began his career as an apprentice with Square Deal Motors in Falkirk, Scotland, in 1998, before becoming a Toyota approved vehicle technician. In 2004 he moved to US military contractor company Roevin as a motor pool lead technician based in Germany. A year later he joined UK rental company Ashtead as a service engineer at its Cumbernauld facility. In late 2006 he made the move to Aggreko Middle East as service team leader in the UAE. Two years later he was promoted to service manager in Qatar, moving up through the company to area operations manager by late 2010, with a move back to the UAE. In 2015 he was transferred to the UK business as technical support manager for rental operations, back home in Scotland. Two years later he was promoted to head of operations, becoming head of operational excellence earlier this year. McConachie will take up the new role at Nationwide Platforms next month.
At the same time Colin Hotchkiss, Loxam powered access and UK fulfilment director, has left the company to take up a position as managing director of storage tank service and installation company Merkland Tank. He had been with Nationwide/Loxam for three years, having joined as managing director in 2018 from Garic - see:
