New Liebherr lift planner

Liebherr has introduced a new version of Crane Planner 2.0 which is already available for several Liebherr All Terrain cranes and all its crawler cranes up to 300 tonnes.

The latest version includes more features and interactive three dimensional lift planning for the 750 tonne LTM 1750 9.1, the 700 tonne LTM 1650-8.1, 450 tonne LTM 1450-8.1, 300 tonne LTM 1300-6.2, 250 tonne LTM 1250-5.1 and 230 tonne LTM 1230-5.1. It will also soon be available for the LTM 1350-6.1.

It will be updated with new models and functions automatically and free of charge, this also includes the new distance tool, which enables objects such as machines and buildings to be positioned relative to each other with a high degree of precision.

The new distance tool

The tool combines the interactive 3D visualisation of the machines, the loads and surrounding objects with dimensions, a positioning tool and Google Maps, without the need for expensive CAD programmes or high performance computers. The results of the planning process can be exported in the form of a report and sent to the customer. This means that even small crane contractors can compete for large tenders.

The Lift Planer’s 3D user interface provides precise machine data via the LICCON load moment system

Liebherr claims that the combination of a high quality three-dimensional user interface and the exact machine data of the load moment limitation from the LICCON crane control system is unique. The data displayed in Crane Planner 2.0 is determined using exactly the same calculation logic as the live data generated by the real cranes. Key data such as ground pressures, support pressures, lifting capacities and centres of gravity are calculated simultaneously. Each time the configuration, load or geometry is changed, a new calculation is carried out.

Challenging planning tasks can be completed professionally in 2D using the ‘Free’ version. The range of functions is similar to the LICCON work planner. The ‘Pro’ version also contains the detailed, interactive 3D models of the cranes, as well as a library with various 3D objects such as buildings, roads, machines or load objects. Map views from Google Maps and 3D data can be included in the display in the correct scale.

Precise reports combining all of the planning data including outrigger or track pad loadings, pressures, centres of gravity lift capacities, etc are available for every step of the job

Ease of use was the main priority during the development of Crane Planner 2.0. No special expertise is required to use the programme and apart from a standard PC and no additional hardware is required.

The programme can be downloaded and installed to a PC from the Crane Planner home page. A free licence for the ‘Free’ version, or the subscription based ‘Pro’ version can be obtained from the licence shop. There is also a ‘Trial’ version available which offers a 30 day free trial of the ‘Pro’ version. Whilst using Crane Planner 2.0, the calculations of the machine planning data, such as lifting capacities, support and ground pressures, are carried out online to ensure that they are always up to date.
