Brazilian electric utility Neoenergia has taken delivery of 91 truck mounted lifts from Socage. The model selected is the new 13.5 metre Socage ForSte 13.5ATDi with dual insulation to 46kV.
The articulated platforms are mounted on Volkswagen 4x4 chassis and will be used to work on power lines, particularly on difficult to access areas.
Neoenergia is owned by Spanish group Iberdrola, was created in 1961 as Coelba (Companhia de Eletricidade do Estado da Bahia) and Cosern (Companhia Energética do Rio Grande do Norte), and controlled by the State Governments until 1997, when they were privatised and purchased with 30 year concessions by the current owners and merged to create Neoenergia.
Further purchases are planned for later this year.
