Nils Altrogge, 46, who took up his post officially this month, was educated in the Netherlands and began his career in 2000 with German management consultants SPG Unternehmensberatung, moving to forklift and warehouse equipment manufacturer Jungheinrich in 2002, initially as a customer service manager. In the 20 years since he has held several, increasingly senior positions from regional customer service roles to sales management to director of its OEM business in the Asia Pacific region based in Shanghai, and most recently P&L responsibility for counterbalance lift truck products.

Speaking of his move to Kiloutou, he said: “I am delighted to be joining the Kiloutou group at this stage of dynamic, international growth. I am very proud to be part of this team.”

Kiloutou entered the German market in 2016 when it acquired Hamburg based Starlift from Hans-Dieter Kark. In the years under Kulawik the company made five further acquisitions, Butsch + Meier, GL Verleih, M+S, Weisecker and Middeke. Today it operates from 14 locations, with around 300 employees and a fleet of around 7,900 machines.

The company says that with a new managing director on board further acquisitions are at the top of its agenda. A statement entitled: “new ambitions for 2022" said: “After a phase of consolidation and the integration of recent acquisitions, the company now intends to accelerate its development through new acquisitions and the opening of additional locations in order to offer a comprehensive range of rentals and to guarantee services throughout Germany.”
