Crane over in South Dakota

A lattice truck overturned on a site in Sioux Falls, South Dakota this morning.

The crane, a Link-Belt rigged with around 60 metres of main boom, was lifting a precast column on nine storey office block on the Sioux Steel District development. The crane went over sideways according to someone close to the scene after one of the front outriggers subsided - however we have not been able to confirm that. As the crane went over, the crane boom caught and damaged the platform of a JLG Ultra Boom, which we understand was not occupied at the time.

The developer and general contractor Lloyd Companies issued a statement confirming that no one was hurt in the incident.
