Bridge bashed

Motorists had a lucky escape yesterday after a loader crane boom was ripped off as the truck passed under a low bridge in Elderslie, Scotland.

Details are a little sketchy, but is seems that a delivery truck belonging to John W Grant bashed into a low bridge yesterday ripping off part of its loader crane which crashed to the ground narrowly missing the vehicle behind.

This is the same spot where a similar but fatal accident occurred last year, when part of a crane was ripped off and landed on the Ford Mondeo behind, killing a father of two.

The crane/truck driver was fined £500 for careless driving for that accident.
