Crane topples onto Synagogue

A truck mounted lattice crane tower boom collapsed onto A synagogue in Frot Lauderdale earlier today virtually demolishing it.

The crane a Lorrain Moto-Crane belonging to Gold Coast Crane services of Holywood Florida, was operating with a fully rigged tower which collapsed over the rear of the crane crashing across a road and onto the synagogue opposite.

Part of the cranes jib

High winds from Tropical Storm Barry are likely to have been the cause of the collapse according to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

The cranes tower and jib also cut a number of power lines cutting power over a wide area.
