Van mount fatality

A man died after falling from a van mounted platform in Rangeley - due west of Bangor, Maine on Tuesday after he came into contact with overhead wires. It seems that the man’s co-worker was driving the van mount - rented from Herc – between work points with its platform elevated.

According to the police the man, Danila Belov, 24, was pulled out of the bucket, when he struck a set of cross wires suspended over the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene, he and his colleague, both from New York City, were working as subcontractors for Consolidated Communications, an internet service provider and telecommunications company.

The police and the Maine Department of Labor are investigating the incident.
