Kennards first access only branch

Australia’s Kennards Hire has acquired Top End Access Hire in Darwin, Northern Territory transforming it into the comapny's first powered access only branch.

The actual transaction was agreed in November but the Top End business is now fully incorporated into the Kennards network.

Top End offers a wide range of aerial lifts and telehandlers as well as fork lifts, at the top end of its boom lift range is the 180ft Genie SX180 - apparently the largest boom lift in Australia.

The business has been rebranded as Kennards Access Darwin, joining four other Kennards branches in Northern Territory.

The branch will be overseen by Kennards area manager, Trent Torrens working with branch manager Lisa Bretherton, assistant manager Wally Drescher, mechanic Dave Whelan and drivers John and Patrick Bretherton.

Torrens said: “Kennards Hire is excited to be carrying on an already amazing legacy started in Darwin by Top End Access Hire. We are lucky to have the experienced staff from their team join us to continue the great experience and service customers are used to. This is the first Access specific branch for Kennards Hire and its specialised equipment range will cater to the growing infrastructure developments and needs in the Northern Territory. The availability of the 180ft Genie Boom Lift is industry changing. We’re confident this will be a very sought after piece of kit.”
