Shawmut adds Manitou

Manitou has appointed Shawmut Equipment as its telehandler dealer in the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Shawmut is a long standing Grove crane distributor and also handles Potain tower cranes, Manitowoc crawler cranes along with National Crane and Broderson pick & carry cranes. Based in Manchester, Connecticut the company has branches in South Easton, Massachusetts and Elmsdale, Nova Scotia in Canada.
Shawmut was founded in 1957 as a crane distributor by George J. O’Connell, today the business is managed by a third generation.

Scott McGuigan, managing director for Manitou’s Eastern region said: "It is with great pleasure that I welcome Shawmut Equipment to the Manitou dealer channel. Shawmut Equipment is a third generation, family owned company now representing the Manitou rotating and heavy capacity telehandler lines. Shawmut’s dedicated sales staff and factory trained technicians will be a tremendous asset to our customer base in the New England area.
