(The contract is ageed - \(L-R\) Niklas Lindberg and Peter Einarsson of Swecon with Paolo Merlo and Alberto Dutto of Merlo)
Swecon can trace its roots back to 1946 or earlier when the Swedish agricultural co-operative Lantmännen began distributing tractors produced by Bolinder-Munktell - branded BM - in Northern Sweden. In 1950 the manufacturer was acquired by Volvo (rebranded as Volvo BM in 1970) with the distributor gaining the right to distribute the tractors nationally in 1962.

Swecon was set up within Lantmännen at the start of 1999, with the merging of 10 independent dealers into the business. Swecon began its operations in the Baltic states in 2002 in order to handle Volvo CE throughout the region, the partnership with Volvo was extended still further when it acquired the Volvo distributor in Germany - Könicke Baumaschinen - in 2010. Today Swecon has around 1,300 employees, based across 100 service centres with more than 400 mobile service vans.
