Two injured in DC power line incident

Two men were injured in Washington DC yesterday when they came into contact with some overhead power lines in Arlington, Virginia, across the river from Georgetown.

The two were using a small JLG boom lift and appear to have taken the basket directly into the power lines located alongside a building under construction.

When the fire crews arrived they found one man still in the platform, while the other was dangling from his lanyard/harness.

They were brought down after the power lines were made safe and then taken to hospital where their condition is said to be serious but not life threatening. It seems that they had a lucky escape.

The following is the local TV news report.
