Alive thanks to his harness

A man was thrown out of the platform he was working from on Tuesday, after his truck mounted lift was clipped by a passing box van.

The man, an employee of a utility company, was thankfully wearing a harness with the lanyard clipped on, which may well have saved his life. The incident occurred while he was working on traffic lights at a cross roads in Jefferson Township on the south west edge of Dayton, Ohio.

The van/truck was traveling through the intersection when it struck the bottom of the basket/bucket, creating a catapult effect which ejected the man leaving him dangling in the air.

By the time the emergency services arrived the man had been lowered to the ground and was sitting in his truck. He was taken to the hospital for a check-up and to look into a minor back pain. The fire department and county sheriff are investigating the incident.
