UK rental company Total Lifting Services has taken delivery of a new 12 tonne Böcker AK 52 truck crane.
Mounted on a four axle 32 tonne Mercedes chassis with rear wheel steer, the AK 52 features a four section main boom plus a three section telescopic luffing jib for a 52 metre tip height. It has a maximum radius of 45 metres and can take three tonnes out to a 17 metre radius with a height of 31 metres. Other features include wireless colour remote control with automatic levelling, and variable positioning of the individual outrigger beams.
Total Lifting Services is based in Dagenham, East London and has been building a Bocker crane fleet, which already includes a four tonne AK 36/4000 and six tonne AK 46/6000. It also runs a 60 tonne Liebherr All Terrain.
Director and co -owner Barry Knapp said: “Bringing an AK 52 into the fleet was the natural next step for the business and our growth, and so far, it has proven itself as a great investment for us. Both Total Lifting and our customer base have been astounded by the versatility of the outriggers when working in confined spaces, especially around those particularly hard to access sites in Central London. The low ground pressures and lifting capabilities of this truck crane have exceeded all expectations, and the AK 52 is now highly sought after by our customers. The Böcker brand credibility, and the continued support we get from them, makes them the obvious choice for our continued investment and growing fleet.”
