Swedish acquisition for Loxam

Loxam's nordic operation - Ramirent, has acquired Swedish rental company Jiab Hyrcenter and subsidiaries from owners Jiab Fastighets, Kex Invest and Ave Capital Invest.

Established in 2011, Jiab is a significant participant in the rental market of northern Sweden, and operates from its base in Luleå with four further locations in Piteå, Boden, Kiruna and Gällivare, with around 55 employees. The acquisition strengthens Loxam/Ramirent’s position in Norrbotten – Sweden's northernmost region/county, and reinforces its claim to be the largest equipment rental company in the country.

Jiab Hyrcenter founder Johan Isaksson said: “Becoming part of Ramirent represents a great opportunity for our company to tackle larger challenges. Together with Ramirent, we will have better resources, expanded competencies and a greater range of services for our machines, as well as new digital services, increased security, and a better working environment. The companies complement each other well and we strongly believe in sustainable machine rental.”

Ramirent chief executive Johan Färm added: ”The transaction is part of Ramirent’s strategy to be the leading player with local roots all over Sweden. Through this acquisition, Ramirent will benefit from Jiab’s’ strong local anchor, which in turn will enjoy the backing of size and resources of the Ramirent and Loxam organisations.”
