Big AT's for Port Services

Port Services (Invergordon) has invested over £3 million for two new mobile cranes with 250 and 450 tonne lifting capacities.

The first to arrive at the company’s new Grangemouth depot is a 250 tonne Terex-Demag AC250-1. The unit is equipped with a seven section 80 metre main boom, the full 96 tonnes of counterweight and a two stage 20 metre swing away extension with up to 40 degrees of offset.

The second order is for a 450 tonne Grove GMK-7450 equipped with 160 tonnes of counterweight a 60 metre main boom and mega wing lift attachment. Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2007.

The investment in these new cranes is due to recent contract awards with two major offshore contractors, which will also necessitate the employment of an additional 10 permanent staff, bringing the company’s workforce up to 60.
