First LTM 1300-6.3 in Iberia

Spanish crane rental company Grúas Alhambra has taken delivery of the first 300 tonne Liebherr LTM 1300-6.3 All Terrain crane to arrive on the Iberian Peninsula.
The first LTM 1300-6.3 to arrive in Spain or Portugal

The six axle, single engine LTM 1300-6.3 crane features an eight section, 90 metre main boom topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, to which two seven metre inserts can be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a tip height of 121 metres. Alternatively, a 43 metre lattice extension takes the tip height to 126 metres. Other features include: VarioBase Plus variable outrigger set up with automatic monitoring, which calculates an optimum chart for the configuration selected, VarioBallast adjustable counterweight, Auto-Ballast and wind speed load charts a well as ECOmode and ECOdrive.

Grúas Alhambra plan to mostly use the LTM 1300-6.3 for refinery work and wind turbine maintenance. Managing director Abraham Molina said: “We were faced with the need for equipment with longer booms. The LTM 1300-6.3 with its 90 metre telescopic boom best meets our current needs. The capabilities of the new crane are undoubtedly a plus for our customers and will pave the way for new lifting projects.”

Founded in 1968, Grúas Alhambra is based on the north side of Granada in Southern Spain and covers most of the Andalusia region with a fleet of 40 cranes and around 70 employees.
