The exploding crane

The driver of a mobile crane traveling along Bell Street in Preston, north Melbourne, Australia this morning noticed smoke coming from the rear of the crane and pulled over to investigate.

The crane, which is owned by Quinlan Crane Hire or Altoona, burst into flame which then caused the fuel tank and at least one of the tyres to explode, ripping out a fire hydrant and demolishing a brick wall. Please register to see all images

Fortunately no one was hurt in the incident.
