A man basket suspended from a truck crane dropped around 10 metres to the ground in downtown Phnom Penh, Cambodia yesterday, seriously injuring its two occupants.
The incident occurred outside a well known bakery in the upscale Tonle Bassac district of the city, the crane an extremely well preserved 25 tonne P&H truck crane. An investigation has been launched and there were plenty of witnesses. However, it is almost certainly down to the manner in which the basket was slung or attached to the crane hook.
It could have been so much worse if the two had been working closer to the top of the building, rather than having just started.
