UK - or rather Welsh - rental company Davies Crane Hire has taken delivery of a 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 All Terrain crane.
The crane is the first of four Liebherr cranes ordered by Davies, with another LTM 1060-3.1, a 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2 and a 100 tonne LTM 1100-5.2 due in next year.
The three axle LTM 1060-3.1 crane is equipped with a six section 48 metre boom, topped by a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which takes the maximum tip height to more than 67 metres, while also offering up to 40 degrees of offset. The crane can carry all its 12.8 tonnes of counterweight within the UK’s STGO regulations, which allow axle loads of up to 16.5 tonnes.
Other features include Liebherr’s ECOmode and ECOdrive systems to help improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions as well as VarioBase variable outrigger set up and monitoring.
Director Neil Davies said: “The LTM 1060-3.1 is the class leader on three axles. We have further invested in Liebherr machines because of their versatility, service reliability and backup.”
Founded in 1979 and based in Carmarthen with depots in Port Talbot, Milford Haven and Cardiff, family-run Davies Crane Hire is one of the largest independent crane rental company in Wales. It currently runs a fleet of mobile and crawler cranes with capacities from eight to 400 tonnes.
