Man survives fall

35-year-old employee of New River Electrical, a subcontractor for Baltimore Gas and Electric survived a 10 to 11 metre fall from the aerial lift he was using on Tuesday afternoon near Annapolis Maryland.

The man was working with a colleague on some non-electrified power at Old Solomons Island Road and Route 2 near Lothian when he fell. It seems that he was not wearing a harness.

He was airlifted by helicopter to Prince George's Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries to his spine according to local fire men.

No explanation has been given as to what caused the man to be ejected from the bucket of his truck mount. New River Electrical has a policy of providing harnesses and all other relevant protective equipment to its employees.
