Swedish rental company Kranpunkten has purchased six new Ruthmann hybrid truck mounted platforms for its fleet - two 27 metre TB 270 Pro Hybrid telescopics and four 23 metre TBR 230 Pro Hybrid telescopics with jib. Deliveries will take place throughout 2024 to Kranpunkten depots in Stockholm and Gothenburg.
The company took delivery of its first TB 270 Hybrid last Spring and has been trialling it Gothenburg. It says that the platform has been very popular for various tasks in and around the City, especially for those customers who are working early in the morning or late at night in the city centre, pedestrian areas or residential areas. Demand for all its hybrid machines is growing substantially.
The platforms are all electric, allowing it to operate emission free with very little noise on the site. While the chassis is a regular low emission diesel with HVO 100 renewable fuel, the lithium ion battery pack for the superstructure can be re-charged while travelling between jobs, with a two hour recharge time from empty. Performance is identical to the standard models.
Mounted on a 3.5 tonne chassis, the TB 270 Pro offers an outreach of 18.1 metres with an unrestricted platform capacity of 100kg, while the maximum platform capacity of 250kg is available at 13 metres outreach.
The TBR 230 has a four section boom topped by a 2.3 metre jib with 185 degrees of articulation. Maximum outreach is 17 metres with 100kg or 13 metres with the maximum capacity of 250kg.
Purchasing manager Rikard Jönsson said: ”Development of new technology and how quickly it becomes available on the market is decisive for the rate at which we and our customers can achieve set sustainability goals. That Kranpunkten can now expand its delivery fleet with additional hybrid truck-mounted platforms is progress.”
Based in Båstad, Southern Sweden Kranpunkten Sweden was established in 1989 in Förslöv between Gothenburg and Malmo. It now runs a fleet of more than 4,500 units, mostly aerial work platforms, including booms, scissor lifts, trailer lifts, truck mounts and mastclimbers, along with telehandlers and wheeled loaders, from nine locations with around 110 employees. Today 85 percent of the units in its fleet are already either electric or hybrid powered.
