Boom truck overturn

Two men were injured yesterday while using a platform on a boom truck in Florida, when the machine overturned, apparently due to an outrigger extension issue and ground conditions.

The incident occurred in the Holey Land Wildlife Management area in the Florida Everglades in Broward County, Northwest of Fort Lauderdale. The crane a 40 ton/36.3 tonne Elliott 40142 had most of its 43 metre boom extended in order to work on some power lines on the area.

One of the two injured men was airlifted to hospital to be treated, while the other was less urgent, their condition is unknown at this time.
