Tree care electrocution

A tree care worker was electrocuted in Acworth, Georgia - north west of Atlanta - last month. We believe it occurred on Monday May 20th.

The man was working from a large utility type articulated bucket truck, the other trucks on the job in the street were from Serious Tree Services, but we cannot confirm that the deceased was an employee or not.

The Acworth Police Department said: "When we arrived at the scene we saw that the man was in the trees and apparently hit a power line and been electrocuted and was already deceased."

Cobb County firefighters had to recover the man's body from the elevated location. A spokesman for the department said: "The power company killed the power. They put some protective covers over the power lines where our crews would be working, our firefighters were able to approach from both sides of the tree and and gently remove the gentleman's body from the tree."

OSHA Investigators arrived shortly aft the police arrived and have launched an investigation.
