Witnesses called for

The Rockland County Sheriff's Department has asked for any witnesses to a fatal aerial lift accident to contact them.

Two men, William S. Maxwell and Dale Post, were installing a sign outside of the Rockland Community College, when the boom of the aerial lift they were working from came crashing down unexpectedly.

Post, 54, was killed, while Maxwell, 30, was taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital in serious condition.

Inspectors from the US federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration have visited the accident scene and opened an investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Rockland County Sheriff's Department at 845 638 5440 and to ask for a detective.
