Tadano opens new plant

Tadano has opened its new 20, 700 square metre production facility in Tadotsu, Japan, dedicated to the production of loader cranes.

The first units went into production on July 25th followed by a ceremony attended by 130 customers and employees along with the mayor of the town. During the ceremony Tadano president Koichi Tadano unveiled the first crane built at the plant.
Tadano loader cranes are all straight telescopic models and mostly sold on the domestic market.

The new plant is part of a major reorganisation and investment by Tadano that sees all ‘construction’ /mobile crane production centred on the company’s Shido plant and aerial work platforms at its Takamatsu facility. The overall aim of these changes is to boost production of its mobile cranes by 50 percent.

The Tadotsu plant has been located on a 22,500 square metre plot adjoining Shikoku Kiko a wholly owned Tadano fabrication subsidiary, which produces the loader crane chassis frames.

Prior to moving into Tadotsu, the booms were built in Takamatsu. The new plant will not only be more efficient but will also have a capacity to build up to 900 cranes a month with 90 employees.
