German outdoor advertising and rental company SE Design has taken delivery of a 21 metre Oil & Steel Octoplus 21 spider lift which joins several others already in the company’s fleet.
The Octoplus 21 features a three section telescopic boom with a maximum working height of 20.7 metres and a maximum outreach of 10.6 metres with 200kg in the platform, or nine metres with its maximum platform capacity of 250kg. The lift has an overall weight of 2,850kg and can be powered by petrol, diesel, Bi-energy or a lithium battery with an optional wireless remote option.
The lift has an overall stowed width of 780mm, an overall height of 1.99 metres and an overall length of 4.97 metres, making it convenient for transport on a truck or in an elevator, while passing easily through a standard single doorway and down narrow pathways.
Oil&steel sales manager Klaus Niemes said: “It's always nice to be able to support and advise customers on their growth. We have a close and growing business relationship with Jan Emmerich, I sold him his first platform and have advised him on our products since then."
Founder of SE Design, Jan Emmerich added: "This will certainly not be the last platform from Oil&Steel: At the end of the year we will certainly add and expand our fleet in the 3.5 tonne area."
Emmerich set up the business in 2014 working out of an office in his home, producing large stickers and sign writing services, but after doing a job for a regional vehicle body builder, his customer base grew rapidly especially among transport/shipping companies.
The focus focused primarily on vehicle livery, but quickly expanded, the point where barely 18 months after starting up the 'one man band' had become a small company with four employees. The company began offering glass foiling and the installation of sun and safety protection films for windows. This was followed an increasingly wide range advertising technology.
In 2018 the company purchased its own work platform, along with an excavator and wheel loader allowing it to respond rapidly to customer requests, it also added other construction related services such as foundation work, and began offering large outdoor posters, façade advertising, illuminated signs and street signage.
As its powered access fleet grew it realised the potential to offer a rental service, and in late 2022 acquired its own premises in Merenberg – north of Frankfurt - and established two separate corporate entities SE Design and the rental operation SE Vermietung with a 50 unit rental fleet. The company now has 11 full time employees.
The says: “The combination of rental fleet and advertising enables us to offer our customers a wide range of advertising technology services using our own resources without additional third party commissioning. Our focus is on absolute customer satisfaction and the associated high quality standards of our products and services.”
