Demag Cranes earnings up

Demag Cranes, the German port and industrial crane manufacturer has reported an earnings increase of 8 per cent rising to €774 million in the first three quarters of its financial year 2006/07 which ends on September 30.
It also reported EBIT rise by 19 per cent to €65.2 million compared with the same period in 2005/06.

The backlog of orders amounted to €422 million at the end of June, a third more than at the end of June 2006. The company registered a substantial increase in order bookings for industrial cranes during the period under review, but saw orders for port cranes fall compared with 2005/06.
