A teenager died on Tuesday after coming into contact with an overhead power line in Great Bend, Kansas, another man was seriously injured.
The two men, Jose Sanchez, 24 and Ivan Mollins 16, were employed by a roofing company carrying out repair work on a hangar at the Great Bend Municipal Airport, north west of Wichita, Kansas, and were working from an 80ft Genie Z-80-60 articulated boom lift. It seems they took the platform too close to the live overhead power lines.

Sanchez managed to scramble out of the platform onto the roof and climb down, while Mollins was left immobile and was not rescued until the power was disconnected. Both were rushed to the local hospital in Great Bend, but Mollins was declared dead shortly after arrival, Sanchez was flown to a special burns unit in Wichita.
