Lifting equipment supplier Kito Crosby is to acquire aluminium overhead crane systems and production line equipment manufacturer eepos and its subsidiaries. The deal is expected to close later this quarter. No details of the transaction have been released at this point.
Based in Wiehl, to the east of Cologne in Germany, eepos was founded in 2006 by Friedhelm Mücher, Klaus Bellingroth, Timo Koch and Armin Mücher, to create ergonomic lifting devices for production lines. Friedhelm Mücher had been active in the overhead crane business for more than 20 years and had ‘discovered’ a completely smooth running crane system based with a modular construction made entirely from aluminium in order to save weight. The company now has subsidiaries in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Hungary, Turkey, France, South Africa, China, and India.

The company will join Kito Crosby’s portfolio of ‘installed lifting solutions’ which includes Kito, Harrington, and Erikkila brands. The acquisition fits with Kito Crosby’s desire to expand in the manufacturing sector with more ergonomic solutions that enable safer working practices.
