Tat Hong up 28%

Sales at Tat Hong, the Singapore based crane rental and sales company has reported first quarter sales of S$138 million ($90/£45.2 million), an increase of 28 percent on the same period last year.

Crane rental represented S$36 million ($23.5/£11.8 million) of this, an increase of 82 percent on last year.

Tat Hong says that this is due to the increased fleet size, which now numbers 500 crawler cranes, very high utilisation in Australia and the inclusion of Muswellbrook Crane Services, acquired in February by the groups Tutt Bryant affiliate.

Profits before tax jumped by 74 percent to S$26 million ($17/£8.5 million)

Based in Singapore, Tat Hong is the world’s largest crawler crane company and specialises in 70-800 ton cranes.

The company also has a general equipment rental business and is heavily involved in crane sales and distribution. The company holds a 23 percent stake in Fushun Yong Mao, the Chinese based tower crane manufacturer.
