Mammoet has announced a partnership with South Korea’s Samyang Marine Group in a move to develop the country’s offshore wind industry.
The partnership will establish Offshore Service Port (OSP) facilities located in the ports of Busan and Masan and provide heavy lifting and transport solutions catering to projects in South Korea and to the wider Asia Pacific region. It will combine all levels of terminal management including handling, staging, marshalling and stevedoring services with heavy lifting and installation capabilities.
The partnership will also help to meet South Korea’s Renewable Energy implementation plan which includes 14.3GW of offshore wind by 2030.
Samyang chairman S.C. Samyang Marine Group operates in the maritime industry and is involved in shipbuilding, ship repair and marine engineering, catering to various industries such as oil and gas, renewable energy, and commercial shipping.
