A little bit of history
Based in Congleton, Cheshire – between Manchester and Stoke on Trent, with a depot in Warrington in Northwest England – between Manchester and Liverpool. The Ashbrook family can trace its roots in the area back to 1752 and dairy farmer Joseph Ashbrook, with every generation having farmed land in the area. Th rental business was established in 1998 by current managing director James Ashbrook after he borrowed a tractor from his father to start a farm contracting business. In 2001 having built the business into a credible size, he was able to purchase the company’s first tractor for the business, a New Holland TM135.
From then on the growth began to gather pace, with the first excavator added to the fleet in 2002, and then stepped up a gear in 2006 with more earthmoving gear, and then in 2015 when specialist trucks allowed a wider range of equipment to be added. In 2016 it acquired two ex-Hewden Hire depots in Warrington and Bangor, selling the latter in 2021 to focus on the two main locations.
The following year it began adding more telehandlers and powered access to the fleet, with Skyjack scissors and Genie booms. In 2019 it placed a £10 million order with JCB for telehandlers, and having celebrated its 25th anniversary last year decided to step up its access fleet expansion plans- leading to this year’s order with Genie. 100th lift for Ashbrook New Genies for Ashbrook Skyjack order for Ashbrook
