UK based airline British Airways has purchased four 24 metre CTE MP 24 C truck mounted lifts.
Three of the four have now been handed over complete with full training and familiarisation sessions. The new machines will be based at the company’s maintenance facilities in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London Gatwick and Manchester.
Launched at Vertikal Days 2021, the units, mounted Iveco chassis feature a long fixed length riser topped by a two section telescopic boom and a double articulated jib with 105 degrees of articulation. It can achieve an outreach of 14 metres over the rear of the chassis with 80kg in the platform, or up to 11 metres with its maximum 250kg capacity. Its lower boom can also elevate to near vertical and provide an up & over height of 10.5 metres.
The airline said that the choice of the CTE MP 24 C is in line with its operational needs where the versatility of the double telescopic boom configuration S3 Evo set up and monitoring system as well as simple intuitive controls made the model well suited to aircraft maintenance applications.
Jimmy Bunting of CTE UK said: “It’s been a pleasure dealing with British Airways, it was evident at their working at height event that the staff in this location are passionate about the work they undertake. The MP24c was selected as the perfect fit for the industry’s needs, as it allows them to carry out all the required tasks on their entire fleet.”
