Indian real estate company Aparna Group has taken delivery of a number of Potain MCT 85 tower cranes.
The five tonne MCT 85 has a maximum jib length of 52 metres and a maximum under hook height of 44.6 metres. It can lift 1.4 tonnes to a radius of 50 metres and 1.1 tonne at its maximum jib tip.
The exact number of cranes has not been specified, but the company now has a fleet of 40 units.
The cranes will be used on high rise developments, including Aparna Sarovar Towers, a 50 floor project spanning five acres with three towers and 585 residential units. Other projects include Aparna Greenscapes, a gated community covering 13.9 acres and Aparna New Lands, located on a 14 acre site featuring eight high rise towers, each with 42 floors and a total of 1,976 units.
Ediga Srinivasulu, head of supply chain management for Aparna said: “Tower cranes are the backbone of our projects. The performance and reliability of Potain cranes empower our team and give them the confidence to keep our projects on track. Our latest, substantial investment in new Potain cranes represents an important step for Aparna in further enhancing our construction capabilities.”
The company acquired its first Potain in 2012 - the MCi 85 - with its new units all manufactured locally in Pune, Maharashtra, India.
