Tree pulls crane over

A 65 ton hydraulic crane tipped over onto a mobile home yesterday afternoon, after a large tree limb it was lifting proved too much for it.

In spite of the fact that people were inside the home watching TV there were no injuries reported.

Lifting a tree to a radius that was too great for the crane caused this tip-over

The crane was taking the weight of the limb then the contractor to then sever it from the trunk, passing the entire weight onto the crane.

Clearly a larger one was needed. Two other cranes arrived on site to upright the striken Grove which then left site under its own power.
