New non-exec for Vp

UK rental group Vp, owner of telehandler rental company UK Forks, low level access specialist MEP and Brandon Hire Station, has appointed Richard Smith as a non-executive director taking over from Phil White who is retiring.

Richard Smith

Smith began his career in1992 with Silverlink Trains where he served in a number of Various Finance roles, joining National Express Group in 1999 in more senior finance positions. After 11 years with the company he left for Unite Students where he was appointed deputy chief financial officer. He was promoted to managing director in 2012 and chief executive in 2016, leaving late last year to focus on his role as chairman of Solent University and his non-executive appointments.

Vp chairman, Jeremy Pilkington said: “I am very pleased to welcome Richard to the board. He brings considerable experience to Vp and we look forward to working with him to maintain the company's robust stewardship.”
