Josef Pohl goes all Grove

German crane rental company Josef Pohl has taken delivery of an 80 tonne Grove GMK4080L All Terrain crane, completing its move to an all Grove fleet.

The four axle GMK4080L has a 60 metre, seven section main boom with an optional 8.7 to 15 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with up to 40 degrees of offset and manual or hydraulic luffing, for a maximum tip height of 78 metres. It can carry up to 13.3 tonnes of its 19.1 tonne counterweight within 12 tonnes axle limits or achieve 10 tonnes axle loads with 5.2 tonnes of counterweight.

Co-managing director Christian Pohl said: "The compact support base of 6.2 x 6.6 metres is really not big for a crane of this size. It is all the more impressive how firmly this crane stands on the ground with all its feet, even in the border area."

Managing director Matthias Josef Pohl added: "We are proud to expand our fleet with the GMK4080L and look forward to the diverse application possibilities that this crane offers us."

Based in Düren between Colgne and Achen, Josef Pohl was established more than 140 years ago as a horse and cart transport company and has since evolved into a crane rental, heavy transport and fork lift company. The delivery coincides with Christian Josef Pohl joining the management team, marking the company's entry into its fifth generation of family ownership.
